Formed in the heart of Cheltenham mid 2024, AZALEAS are a 5 piece melodic hardcore band that combine heavy screams with etherial melodies.
The band came to light thanks to AZ (Vocals) and Leon Haworth (guitar), who later asked Shay Lipyeat (bass) to join the team, and without wanting to sit around and wait for opportunity to find them, the band organised their very first gig. The Halloween event (that they plan to reprise this year) was a major success, and they've since returned to the Frog and Fiddle on multiple occasions. In February they made their Birmingham debut, and took part in Cheltenham's branch of Metal to The Masses, placing 3rd in their heat in their fourth gig!
This landed them a spot opening for the UK'S biggest Iron Maiden tribute act, 'Ed Force One'. The band soon invited Matt Joiner (drums) and Harrison Wallace (rhythm guitar) to join in the fun, both who are just as determined to make it in the industry as the original trio.
As a group, they won't let a 'no' put them down, and they're more hell-bent than ever to make it. So bring a helmet to the mosh!
